Mastering Inversion

Upside Down Yoga.

We’ve all experienced that finding your balance when you’re upright can be tricky, but it’s an entirely different ball game when your whole perspective and body is upside down. Consequently inversions can be daunting and it can be difficult to know where to start. This workshop will give you the guidance and confidence to challenge yourself and give you tools to take back into class with you.

Why inversions are important to your health?

The human body is more than 60% water and therefore very susceptible to the pull of gravity. When you invert yourself, tissue fluids, from your lower extremities drain even more effectively than when you asleep. Apart from many other benefits Inversions rests your heart and promote more efficient gas exchange within your lungs.

Key features of  Inversion workshop

Total Hours : 8

Session 1. Sequencing & Transition

  • Understanding role and place of head, Spine and Shoulder in Inverted yoga poses.
  • Principles of Sequencing yogic practices for both the simple and more challenging inversions.

Session 2. Preparation

  • Role of breathing, Mudra & Bandh (Yogic gestures & locks) in inversions.
  • Methods for preparing body and mind for basic to advance inversion postures.

Session 3. Kinesiology of Inversions

  • Explore kinetic chain link responsible for sustaining inversions.

Session 4. Mastering Inversions

  • Preparation & practice of Four important inverted postures mentioned in Hatha Yoga Texts.

All session includes Practice and assessment to evaluate the degree of progress in every segment.

All workshops are offered under Yoga Alliance registry – YACEP

As per YA Standard every three years starting from the initial date of registration with YA, all RYTs must submit a minimum of 45 hours of yoga teaching and 30 hours of yoga training, At least 10 training hours must be Continuing Education (CE) Contact Hours. No more than 20 training hours may be Continuing Education Non-Contact Hours. All hours must be directly related to one of the YA Educational Categories.
